Three persons traveling on a bike snatched a woman's bag containing valuables worth Rs 1.25 lakh near the Juhu police station on Tuesday night. The victim, Komal Khanna returned from Ahmedabad.

MUMBAI: Three persons traveling on a bike snatched a woman's bag containing valuables worth Rs 1.25 lakh near the Juhu police station on Tuesday night. The victim, Komal Khanna returned from Ahmedabad hired an auto from the domestic airport around 11 pm. The auto slowed down near the police station and the accused snatched Khanna's bag. She creamed for help and asked the auto driver chased the biker but in vain.

Khanna said, "I lost my confidence after the incident.
The incident took place close to the police station and I screamed, but no one helped me."
Police said they conducted nakabandi around the area but were unable to trace the accused. Khanna suspects the auto driver's involvement in the crime. tnnBut the police said they do not suspect the driver's involvement. Police said that the just before the incident the driver received a call on his mobile from his relative and they are verifying about it.
Police said that they had taken various steps including cycle patrolling which helped them to control the street crimes. But such offences take places in the city regularly and most of the victims become target in western suburbs.
Khanna added, "Two days ago I witnessed another incident where a woman was chasing an accused near Juhu circle and one of my roommates was also a victim of bag snatching. We expect better policing."
